Hide Your Face

Even the sun hides its face

Behind clouds

Skirting stealthily across the sky

Even stumbling and falling over the horizon

Its absence giving it the impression of renewed strength

When it rises again

Its absence part of the reasons Nature misses it

When it returns

Even Earth refuses to let the Sun see all of its nakedness

It keeps turning, revealing a piece at a time

Luring the Sun to keep pursuing

With its eyes

Balance

Moderation

A healthy dose of sweetness

Before you’re known

You’ll be be anonymous

Before you become irresistible

Like an addictive drug

You’ll be ignored, underrated, turned down

And not be given enough room to show what you’re made of

But it would be enough room

To learn to appreciate your worth without anyone’s approval

To learn to be there for you and pat your own shoulder

When the going is rough

Allow the heat to bake you into the tough rock

That many sinking feet will count on for support

Enjoy every stage of the season of anonymity

It is a blessing
